Compression & optimization

Resize and Compress Images

Most oversized photos are too big in two ways: too many pixels and too high a quality setting. Fixing both at once gives far bigger savings than either alone.

Frequently asked questions

What maximum width should I pick?

1600 px for general sharing, 1200 px for email, 2048 px for high-quality web galleries.

Does resizing keep the aspect ratio?

Yes. Only the width is capped; the height follows automatically.

Can I set an exact size instead?

Use the Image Resizer for exact width and height or social media presets.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
