Frequently asked questions

How many images can I compress at once?

There's no fixed limit. Hundreds of photos work on most computers; phones handle smaller batches.

Do all images use the same settings?

Yes. Change a setting and every image is re-processed to match.

Are file names kept?

Yes, the original names are kept with the new extension if you changed the format.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
