Frequently asked questions

Can I make a passport-style white background?

Yes — choose white (#FFFFFF), then use the Passport Photo Maker for the exact size.

Why does the subject look pasted on?

Lighting matters: choose a background with similar light, and lower the Edges value for a softer blend.

Is my photo uploaded to an AI service?

No. The AI model (U²-Net, about 5 MB) is downloaded from this site once and runs entirely in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
