Remove White Background from Images

Logos, signatures, scanned stamps and studio product photos usually sit on plain white. Making that white transparent lets you place them on any colored page, slide or website.

About this tool

Only white connected to the image edges is removed by default, so white details inside your subject (like eyes or text) stay put. Raise the tolerance if a faint off-white haze remains.

How it works

  1. 1

Add your image (or try the sample product shot).

  2. 2

Adjust tolerance and soft edge until the edges look clean.

  3. 3

    Download a transparent PNG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a signature transparent?

Photograph or scan it on white paper, add it here, raise the tolerance a little and download the PNG.

Why is there a white halo around my logo?

Increase the tolerance or the soft edge slightly. JPG compression around edges often leaves near-white pixels.

Does this work on photos with busy backgrounds?

No — it removes one plain color. For people and complex scenes, use the AI background remover.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
