How is this different from removing the background?
Removing the background keeps the original canvas size; extracting crops the canvas tightly around the object.
Can I pick which object to extract?
The model picks the most prominent subject. Crop the photo around the object you want first if there are several.
Is my photo uploaded to an AI service?
No. The AI model (U²-Net, about 5 MB) is downloaded from this site once and runs entirely in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
