Frequently asked questions
What is aspect ratio?
The proportion of width to height. 16:9 means 16 units wide for every 9 tall.
Can I change the ratio without cropping?
Only by stretching or adding borders. Cropping keeps the picture natural.
How do I find an image's current ratio?
Divide width by height — 1920/1080 = 1.78, which is 16:9.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
