Image Quality Optimizer
The right quality setting depends on the picture: a busy landscape hides compression well, a smooth portrait or a sky does not. This tool lets you tune by eye instead of guessing.

Frequently asked questions
Is 100% quality lossless?
No. JPG at 100% is still lossy, just barely, and the file is much bigger. Use PNG for true lossless.
Why does the size barely change above 90%?
Above about 90%, files grow quickly while visible quality hardly improves.
Can I optimize for a size limit instead?
Yes — use the Target File Size Compressor.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
