Frequently asked questions

Can I blur only part of the background?

This tool blurs everything behind the subject. For selective blur, use the photo editor's brush tools.

Will it blur my hair edges?

A lower Edges value keeps hair soft and natural against the blur.

Is my photo uploaded to an AI service?

No. The AI model (U²-Net, about 5 MB) is downloaded from this site once and runs entirely in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
