Frequently asked questions
Does image size affect SEO?
Indirectly. Smaller images load faster, which improves Largest Contentful Paint, a Core Web Vitals metric that search engines use.
Should I use WebP or AVIF?
WebP works everywhere today. AVIF can be smaller still but is slower to encode and not available in every browser.
What width should hero images be?
1920 px covers most desktop screens. Content images rarely need more than 1200 px.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
