Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my photo has a location?

Add it here — if GPS tags are listed in the metadata panel, the location is stored in the file.

How do I stop my phone adding locations?

Turn off location access for the camera app in your phone's privacy settings.

Is only the GPS removed?

All metadata is removed, which is the safest choice. The picture itself is unchanged.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
