Frequently asked questions
Do social networks remove this data?
Many large networks do, but messaging apps, email, cloud links and marketplaces often keep it.
Is the photo itself analyzed?
No, only the hidden metadata is checked. Faces and visible content are not analyzed.
How do I stop it happening?
Turn off location for your camera app, and clean photos before sharing.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Files are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser using the canvas API and Web Workers. Nothing is sent to any server, and there is no account or storage. Closing the tab discards everything.
